Learn to Embrace the Gray

LEARNING TO EMBRACE THE GRAY HAS BEEN THE HARDEST PART OF GETTING OLDER (and no,
I’m not talking about hair color).

BEING IN MY 50’s IS AWESOME AND CHALLENGING AT THE SAME TIME.

AND THERE IS SO MUCH UNKNOWN.

It’s awesome because I know who I am and I like myself (most of the time).

Challenging because I question everything - is this moving me closer to my goal or further away from it?

Gray because I don’t know what the next 10 years look like.

Awesome because everyone doesn’t need to like me - I don’t like everyone.

Challenging because I consider my legacy - what is it all for? Will anyone remember me? And does it even matter?

The gray is life without kids. It's different. There’s no roadmap.

Awesome because I don’t care as much about what other people think - it’s actually none of my business.

Challenging because aging is not easy- I want to be the healthiest person I can be (while also having fun).

The gray area: am I making the right decisions for my health? It’s my job to lead by example and I am also human.

Awesome because the friends I have I love deeply -  I picked them, and I’ve learned here that less is more.

Challenging to find my people in Los Angeles after relocating here in my 40s.

Gray because there are so many more people to meet. How do I stay open to all the universe has to offer?

Life isn’t black & white. The older we are, the less we know and the more we have to rely on intuition.

So go ahead — embrace the gray it’s the only option! The unknown is scary and can also be AWESOME.

I would love to hear your thoughts below about the unknown. Is it challenging? Awesome? scary?
